Sweet little M. came for some portraits recently, and while she gave me a big grin before even getting out of her coat, once she was in the spotlight she turned very serious and just stared at me soulfully with her big, round eyes. After running through my whole bag-o-tricks (basically acting like a nut), and with the help of her three older sisters, we finally got some happy smiles. But if you ask me, sometimes the serious, soulful portraits are the ones that turn out the most beautiful.
