One reason I’m happy it snowed a lot this winter is because I got to do awesome pictures in the snow. Oh, and my kids got to go sledding for the first time ever. But that’s about it. After the three hundredth snowstorm I was super tired of the fluffy white stuff. Now that spring is here, and I can pretty confidently say that we have seen our last flake of the winter, I want to share this adorable family session we shot a few months ago. I knew I was working with a great client and mom when she told me she was booking the session to capture her eight year old’s adorable gap-toothed grin. (She has two beautiful walls in her kitchen filled with “milestone” pictures of her kids. My type of gal 🙂 ) She also wanted to capture her kids delight as they played in the snow. So we started off taking some portraits inside their gorgeous home,( with a special focus on the only girl of the family) and then headed outside for the snowy pictures.
It was amazing. The kids were in their element, running around, taking turns sledding down the hill, and all I had to do was follow them around and occasionally give them some direction for a shot. At the end, while the baby warmed up inside, the big kids enjoyed some hot cocoa while I continued to snap.
I went home with boots filled with water, numb toes, and a memory card filled with awesomeness. But the best part was knowing I’d made my clients so happy by preserving these moments for them. Because as much as we hate it, time marches on, teeth grow in, babies become big kids, and big kids become adults… adults who instead of being thrilled at the notion of a snowstorm, groan instead.
Beautiful!! I love this session!!
