A real connection- Brooklyn, NY Children’s Photographer

The longer I am in this business, the more I am beginning to see that the secret to great portraits of children (and adults too, for that matter), has little to do with your equipment, which camera or lenses you use, or the size of your studio. Of course, the above all help create a good quality exposure, but in the end the props and backgrounds and equipment all become irrelevant when you achieve one thing- a pure connection with your subject. When you connect to the person you’re photographing on a true, deep level, the portraits you end up with are a real and accurate representation of who that person is.  And when I have done that, I have truly done my job.  Well, to get to the point, this recent upsherin session was a session where I really connected with adorable  E. and his sister. We got some really special expressions.  They are such sweet kids, and we both had fun creating his upsherin portraits.  Here’s a small sampling of images from this session.
