Summer evenings, when the sun is getting low and the light is turning golden- there is something magical that happens. I met the L. family in a beautiful park for their portrait session and even though it was hot, the kids were adorable and cooperated so nicely. I love how mom did her little girl’s hair and I love their adorable outfits and contagious smiles and sparkling blue/green eyes. Basically, to sum it up, I loved everything about this session.
As much as I adore sleeping poses, when it comes to very alert newborns with huge, gorgeous eyes and an intense gaze, I go crazy for those images every single time. Just look at these cheeks and those round, wise eyes and tell me he’s not the cutest little newborn ever!
If I were to list two of my favorite types of people to photograph it would be newborn girls in purple and almost-three -year olds with gorgeous curls. The adorable faces and huge eyes are just the icing on the cake! When mom asked if we could squeeze in some upsherin portraits in the middle of her baby’s newborn session, I wasn’t sure we could pull it off. But thankfully little Y. was just pure cuteness and super cooperative so we were successful!
There’s something special about the sessions I do for families making a Bar Mitzva Kiddush on Shabbos. I photograph them just a few hours before shabbos. Everyone is dressed and made up beautifully, and even though the day must have been insanely busy and stressful and hectic, I can barely tell. That’s how it was with the G. family- at this session, and at their older son’s bar mitzva that I photographed a few years back. Mom just exuded beauty and calmness and all the kids were so well behaved. There was an atmosphere of simcha and excitement that made me so happy I could be a part of it and capture that feeling forever. Check out the gorgeous metal wall display we designed together! It’s totally gorgeous.
There’s something really cute about newborns with a bit of chub to them. The chubby cheeks on two week old N. made her even more adorable, especially when I posed her with her face resting on her little hands. I loved how she looked in the pink setup, but her coloring looked really amazing on the neutral colored setup as well. She was thoroughly enjoyable to photograph and I hope her family treasures these precious newborn portraits forever!
